A Good Laugh & a Layout

So I thought I would share something that my friend posted on a thread that made me laugh. But you want to skip this & see my layout, just scroll to the bottom. :)

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats..
2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8)You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandma's lap.

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts
4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground..
5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside.
6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy.

GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional..
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:
1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus.
4) You look like Santa Claus.

Ok.. so funny!

Anywho, on to today's layout. This another oldie one.. I was REALLY happy with how this one turned out. Don't know why.. maybe the scalloped circle paper? Hmmm...

Happy Crafting!

Quincenera on Friday

Happy Friday!

Today I start a new adventure; an exciting one! One that will allow me to meet new & interesting people... so wish me luck!

So.. Oh yea... this is going WAYYY back into time! 1997 to be exact. This was my friends Quincenera, in which she asked me to participate in. Oh yeah... definitely a Mexican tradition! haha

I really didn't want to distract from the photos, so I simplified the layout & created my own lines. Enjoy!

So I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'm got plenty more nostalgic layouts coming your way!! :D

Another layout...

I used some old papers to do this 8.5x11 layout. Not my normal size, but I'm working on trying out different sizes :)

Oh! And I start a 2nd job next Friday working on the show the Apprentice. Soo fun! (hopefully)

Heartfelt card

Hello!!

Happy Wednesday... wasn't it just Saturday?? man... time is flying by. And hello?? Tomorrow is Oct. 1. Wow. wow. wow. Only 2 1/2 months til Christmas... eek!!! lol *enter hyperventilation here*

Anywho, thought I would share a card today, since I've been sharing layouts lately. I'm glad I haven't had to give this one to anyone yet.. but I was really happy w/ how it turned out. I think I might have to case myself & use different sentiments. ha!

I used my Tombow markers to color in the flowers & branches, & heat embossed w/ clear embossing powder. :)

This is a short one... not much to share :(

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Cool technique

Who loves Glimmer Mist?!?!?! *me! me! me!*

I had heard of this technique before, but I had never done it.. making your own patterned paper. The high school that I graduated from, their colors were red, white & blue.. I started off w/ Heidi Swapp star masks. Ooo.. I LOVE them! I saw her demo them @ the Craft & Hobby show last Jan., & I couldn't wait to get them!

First I started w/ plain white cardstock. Then I laid my masks the way I wanted them on the cardstock. Then I took some blue glitter mists, & sprayed the paper until I got the color that I wanted. Then I peeled off the masks & wha-la! Instant patterned paper. Sooo cool!

Now for my pop of color... I don't know a single person who doesn't have sticker letters that they keep b/c one day (even though combined they won't make a word from the english language ha!) you'll use them for something, right?!?! Well... I finally used my stash to make a cool background. Again I took the stickers, placed them on white cardstock, & then misted over them. And b/c before I laid them down I placed them in the palm of my hand to kind of remove some of the sticky, it was really easy to peel up the letters.

Easy as pie! But was it clear as mud?? ha! (yes... I'm a dork. I know.. hehe) :)

Well... anywho... I'm off to get scrappy! Have a good weekend!

Awww... I am sooo excited that Fall has officially started as of the 22nd. I *love* the fall. Coats, jackets, lots of blankets, hot chocolate... all my favorites!!

But to pay homage to summer & how glad I was that it was not a super hot summer, here's a layout I did for my guest designer spot @ Yourscrapbookstash.com. Thanks Erica for picking me!

I stickled the thickers to make them extra glittery & yummy :)

Here's another layout from back in the days..

Yeah.. yup.. those are my "chola" days. ha!!! When I thought I was hard core. Sooo funny!!!
